I straighten my hair almost everyday but I want my hair to have a different look. I'm bored of my plain hair. So what should I do to make it different?

I sound like a broken reoord, but for once go to a very good salon.

Look through mags and books but ask a stylist (who looks good) to book you. Then go back in a few days and get his/her opinion.

There are great products (like styling gel and sprays) that you can just spray on wet hair to make it cute and curly. However, the charm is in the cut. You have to work w/the hair God gave you, and I ought to know--I have ethnic hair--1/2 Italian and 1/2 Polish--and on a good day it can curl and frizz and do everything.

So, I went to a great salon and listened to a stylist who was, guess what, Polish, and could understand my hair. She helped me to use the products and taught me to do it on my own. It makes me feel like a million dollars to do it correctly and to have someone tell me it looks nice. I can do it wet and curly; I can use

hot rollers, I can braid it, I can put it up like Miss America, and I can even make it go straight.

But when I really want to look nice I save up some money and go see Cindi--she has been my stylist for 10 years and will be for as long as she is in the business because she is a teacher as well as a friend. She actually cares about her clients and it shows.

Enjoy the process. You will use it the rest of your life.
