How do i cut my own scene hair?

okay, first of all i dont care what your oppinion is and if i should get it done at a salon...

i want to cut my scene hair. i dont know how to cut layers and make it choppy though...can you explain to me how to cut it all choppy? or find a video or anything? pictures dont really help me. i need INSTRUCTIONS.

umm, well,

take KiKi Kannibal's old scene hair, that was pretty home done.

If you already have layers, then clip them all up round your head and take pieces down one by one, cutting them BLUNTLY to the length you want them to be

make sure you do this for all your layers

if you haven't, get layers at a salon. or, cut them from scratch. if you want superthick layers, i'd cut the layer so there's no long hair underneath it at all, then clip in extensions to make up for it. ee, i know what i mean :/

to make it choppy you need just a paddle brush and some hairspray/hairwax/hair gel. i reccommend strong spray or wax. not gel :/ but t'vers. its different for everyone.

get the layer, and hold it up straight. then brush it down from the back so it looks kinda knotty. now you either spray it generously [dont worry about how much hairspray you put on, it needs absolutely LOADS for it to stay stiff] and let it fall down. do this for all your layers, then backcomb them into eachother so they blend. this works well if you have the bottom of your hair hanging down straight [:

if yur hairs short, i recommend you get extensions.

You pick a section of hair and cut. It doesn't have to be even or anything, but do that around your head until you like it. I cut my own choppy layers. I prefer doing it when I've straightened my hair so that I know what it'll look like. The amount of hair you chop off in each layer is completely up to you. I have long strands, short strands, and I left my hair long underneath it all. I hope this helps, but I was kind of vague. It's a bit hard for me to explain.
